The Aiken High track and field team put on another show Thursday night in Evans Georgia as they try to outrun the coronavirus. The girls team placed 2nd overall with several top place finishes and a score of 98 points. It all started with a first place finish in the 3200 meter run by Victoria Colon-Laborde with a time of 13:37.00. Next up came Duwonna Arnold with a win in the shot put with a throw of 34-0.50. Finally out came the Aiken High girls speed beginning with LaToria Robinson with wins in the 100m and 200m with times of 12.53 and 25.48 respectively. Arianna Williams was next with a commanding victory in the 300mh with a time of 50.47. The girls last points came from a huge win in the 4x400m relay comprised of Anaya Jones, Jordyn Mobley, LaToria Robinson, and Diamond White with a time of 4:11.78. This finish puts the team in a commanding lead in the state of South Carolina as the number one 4x400m relay team!

On the boys side there were no first place finishes but there was plenty of great performances happening. The throwers took 7 points led by Kapono Lafayette and Elijah Bonaparte. Peter Caldwell finished 2nd in the 3200m with a time of 11:34.40. The speed of the track came from 2nd place finishes in the 4x100m relay, 200m, and 4x400m relay. Antavious Lawton and AJ Staley ran their hearts out with times of 11.43 and 11.61 in the 100m and 23.19 and 23.62 in the 200m. The 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay both comprised of Antavious Lawton, AJ Staley, DJ Hill, and Kyron Holmes dropped times of 43.97 and 3:34.88! The boys team finished 3rd overall with a score of 45 points.
