AIKEN, SC – Aiken High School is pleased to announce the hiring of Luke McClure as the school’s next Head Boy’s and Girl’s Golf Coach. A committee of AHS administrators tasked with searching for the school’s new golf coach is excited to announce its selection to lead the Aiken High golf program.
McClure has 4 years of coaching experience, including a stint as an assistant football coach with Aiken High from 2016-2018. Most recently, for the past two seasons, McClure has served as an assistant football coach at Augusta Christian High School, primarily working with the offensive line.
Outside of coaching, McClure currently serves as a Social Studies teacher at Aiken High School and will be entering his 5th year as a teacher at the school. Along with those duties, he serves as a member of the Youth Development Team and SIT Team, two programs focused on the positive growth and development of our student population. McClure is a graduate of The University of South Carolina Aiken in 2016 with a B.A. in Secondary Education with a focus in Social Studies.
“It is such an honor to once again be able to wear the green and gold as a coach at Aiken High. I have been extremely blessed to have been a part of the Aiken High School family as an educator the past 4 years and I am excited to once again join this great athletic staff. I always wanted to get back to coaching the students at my school and am grateful for this opportunity to do so. It is my goal as the next golf coach at Aiken High to positively impact those individuals on my teams by teaching them how to be successful people on and off the course. Victor Lancaster did a phenomenal job with the golf program, and I hope to continue where he left off in moving this program forward.”
